Open to all artists 18 and older. Works should
bring to light phrases like Inner Beauty, Eye of the Beholder and Beauty is Only Skin Deep. What makes a person beautiful and if (s)he
doesnÕt meet suggested criteria, is the person any less beautiful? Is there beauty in the beast?
Brandywine Studios is located in Somerset, Kentucky near beautiful Lake
Cumberland. The mission of BWS is to bring contemporary artists together with
other artists and everyday people through exhibitions, studio space, classes
and arts events.

Two awards
totaling $300 in value will be given. Juror to be determined.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artists 18 and older. All artwork must be original work executed by the artist within the last three years.
ENTRY FEE
Artists may submit up to three works for a non-refundable processing fee of $35.00. (Check/Money Order made payable to Brandywine Studios.)
SUBMISSION
GUIDELINES
Medium:
All media accepted. The only restriction being that a single work should not
weigh over 75 pounds. Two and three-dimensional forms, and video (DVD) will be
considered. For installation pieces, specific installation considerations are
the artistÕs responsibility under the direction of BWS for reason of aesthetics
and security.
Letter:
Please list your name, address, email, phone and if applicable, a link to your
website. Each application should also include an artistÕs statement, short bio
and a brief description of the process for the workÕs creation and your
perspective on, what makes a person beautiful? as represented with your piece.
Images:
Artists may submit additional images; each additional image will be $10NR.
Images submitted must be raw .jpeg files via email: bspc@brandywinestudios.com
or on CD. (500kb max no other formats will be accepted.) Please include
corresponding image list with name, title, medium, dimensions and year
completed. If you are submitting an installation piece or complex work, please
provide additional images and a detailed description. Any accepted work that is
not accurately depicted through the application process will not be installed.
If you would like to have your CD of images returned to you please
make certain your SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) is large enough for
this purpose.

February 7, 2009.

SALES
All work
submitted must be available for purchase in its entirety at the time of the
exhibition. Brandywine Studios will retain a 30% commission on all sales
directly attributed to the exhibition. All prices are to be set by the artist
at the time of entry and include the 30% commission.
SHIPPING &
RETURN OF ACCEPTED WORK
Accepted works
are to be hand delivered or shipped in a single reusable crate(s)/carton(s).
Include with each work two 3x5 cards listing Name, Address, Phone, Title,
Media, Dimensions and Value. Attach one of the cards to the back or underside
of your work. Works must be shipped at the artistÕs expense and include prepaid
return shipping labels. Hand delivered works must be picked up within thirty
days of the close of the exhibition at Brandywine Studios or work becomes
property of BWS to dispose of as it sees fit.
PUBLICITY
BWS reserves
the right to photograph and reproduce, in color or black & white, all
artworks accepted for this exhibition, regardless of copyright, for educational
and/or publicity purposes.
LIABILITY
AND INSURANCE
While every
reasonable precaution is taken to safeguard all entries, Brandywine Studios
does not insure work submitted for competitive exhibitions, and is not
responsible for damage to any work submitted while on display or loss during
transit. Artists are strongly encouraged to insure their own work. Works
delivered to this exhibition indicate agreement on the part of the entrant with
the above conditions.
